Project Summary
ENGLISH VERSION
The purpose of this project is to enable children, who are identified by Gevegelija Social Service with special needs, including child victims of domestic violence, abused children, and child survivors of psychological trauma, to socialize into society through direct involvement with other children that participate in our Nature Day Program: field trips, easy hiking, visiting ranches, farms, factories, museums and organized social games and activities that create interaction with other children, all focused on the areas of nature, environment and ecology. Participation of these children in Nature Day will provide psycho-sociological support outside of the institution they currently attend, to increase their confidence so they feel they belong in society equally with other children, and for the children to accept the children with special needs as equal partners in accomplishing activities. This project also includes funding to help and support the families of the children with special needs, who are found to be most vulnerable and socially poor along with funds to improve the equipment, gym and facility at the Daily Center, where many of them receive services and Nature Day can have “rainy day” activities.
