ENGLISH VERSION
The aims of the Dogs for Human foundation are to improve the mentally and physically disabled people's conditions and quality of life by introducing the assistance dogs in Hungary; to rear and train assistance dogs and to distribute them to the beneficiaries. The other objective of the foundation is to professionally support the edition and publication of educational materials that make the dog as a social assistant widely accepted in public.

Le but de la fondation “Dogs for Humans” est d’améliorer les conditions de vie des personnes handicapées physiquement et mentalement en Hongrie en leur offrant des chiens d’assistance; en élevant et en entraînant ces chiens avant de les remettre à leurs futurs maitres. L’autre objectif de la fondation est d’apporter une aide professionnelle à l’édition et à la publication de matériels éducatifs, afin de faire du chien une aide sociale reconnue unanimement par le public.

In 1998, by training the first certified service dog in Hungary, our foundation successfully introduced this new type of assistance for disabled people, which had an exemplary effect. In spite of the numerous changes during the past few years, Hungarian disabled people are still in a disadvantage compared to the similar population in the western region of Europe. This particularly holds true for children, who sometimes lead a very passive and cloistered life without any possibility to be integrated in the social life of their age groups. In this project we plan to train 4 dogs specifically for children’s needs, hoping that these dogs will not only directly aid their little owners, but by attracting media attention, promote the change of view of our society regarding children with disabilities.

En 1998, en entraînant le premier chien qualifié pour l’aide à la personne de Hongrie, notre fondation a introduit avec succes ce nouveau type de soutien aux personnes handicapées de ce pays, faisant office d’exemple. En dépit des nombreux changements ayant eu lieu au cours des dernieres années, les personnes handicapées vivant en Hongrie sont toujours désavantagées par rapport à leurs homologues plus à l’ouest de l’Europe. Ce constat est surtout vrai pour les enfants qui parfois menent, cloitrés, une vie passive, sans aucune possibilité de participer aux activités sociales de leur classe d’âge. Dans ce projet, nous prévoyons d’entrainer 4 chiens spécialement pour les besoins de ces enfants, en espérant que ces chiens non seulement destinés à aider leurs petits maitres seront aussi, en attirant l’oeil des médias, aptes a participer à changer la perception qu’a la société des enfants porteurs de handicap.
