ASBL Casa di Copii contributes to the education and healthcare of Romanian children up to 18 years old, that are abandoned or neglected by their families and that are placed in a  foster family by the Romanian Social Services.

L’ASBL Casa di Copii contribue à l’éducation et la santé des enfants Roumains jusqu’à l’âge de 18 ans. Etant abandonnés ou négligés par leurs familles, ces enfants ont été placés dans des ou des familles d’accueil par les Services Sociaux Roumains.

ENGLISH VERSION
Casa di Copii invites these children to the homes of voluntary Belgian families military and others for 2 weeks at Christmas and/or 6 weeks during the Summer where they are surrounded with the necessary structure, stability and care they lack in Romania and where they are provided with the healthcare they can’t be given by the Social Services of Romania such as dental care.

Until last year the Belgian Defence offered a military aircraft for the transportation of the children. That way the cost of the vacations was minimal. From this year on, the children will have to come with a commercial flight. The ASBL is financially not in a position yet to support the cost of commercial transportation and will need some time to adapt. Even so, Casa di Copii will continue to invite the children but this year at the expense of the families.  Unless the ASBL can find some bridging finances for 2011-2012, the risk exists to loose some of the receiving families and that children having come to Belgium for several holidays have to stay behind in Romania..

Ces enfants sont invites par Casa di Copii pour vivre avec des familles belges volontaires militaires et autres pour 2 semaines à Noël et/ou 6 semaines pendant l’été. Entourés par une structure et une stabilité de famille nécessaire, ils y ont les soins qui leurs manquent en Roumanie. En plus ils y reçoivent les soins médicaux qui leurs manquent comme par exemple l’hygiène dentaire.

Comme l’ASBL pouvait compter sur la Défense belge pour le vol aller retour jusqu’à l’année passée, les coûts de ces vacances étaient insignifiant. A partir de cette année les enfants feront le voyage avec un vol commercial. L’ASBL n’a pas encore les moyens financiers pour prendre les coûts de transport et aura besoin d’un peu de temps pour adapter sa manière de travail sur ce plan. De toute façon Casa di Copii continuera à inviter les enfants en Belgique. Les coûts seront portés par les familles cette année ci. Si l’ASBL ne trouve pas un financement  pour les années 2011-2012, le risque existe de perdre des familles d’accueil. Ainsi des enfants qui sont venus plusieurs fois en vacances en Belgique ne peuvent plus venir et doivent rester en Roumanie.
